The method

We don’t learn a language to leave it in a notebook. We learn it to use it. That is why every Lengua Viva class and every exercise ends with you saying Spanish out loud.
Reverse translation, the Pinker way
You see a sentence in English and build it out loud in Spanish. You say it first, then you reveal the answer and compare. Because you must produce the sentence yourself, you practise the exact skill you need in a real conversation: finding the words fast, with nobody giving you the choices.
An example
English: I’ve been learning Spanish for two months.
Natural Spanish: Llevo dos meses aprendiendo español.
A word-for-word version such as He estado aprendiendo español por dos meses is understandable, but it sounds translated. Spotting that difference is what the method trains.
The Gringómetro: does your Spanish sound translated?
The Gringómetro is a tool that shows how “translated” your Spanish sounds and how to make it natural. It looks at more than whether a sentence is grammatically correct: a sentence can be correct and still be something nobody would say. It is included in the Premium and VIP plans.

- Live classes every day: small groups at your level where you speak, make mistakes and get corrected. See the classes.

- Practice between classes: reverse-translation exercises in our campus, including courses based on TV series and the grammar course, with feedback on each sentence you write.
